Rainforest Creature Design: Uviones Durrowfin

This assignment brief was to design a variety of interesting creatures, to make them fascinating and believable. Also, we had to use our knowledge of animals anatomy and enhance it (e.g. distorting the proportions), without making it look too similar to real animals. With these designs, we eventually had to come up with a poster design for one of the creatures.

My final design for creating a creature poster. I used Zbrush to pose the creature with lighting and then painted over the design, color and texture using Photoshop.

To choose one creature for the final poster, I researched on how animals physique adapt to their habitat and how it helps them survive. For example, I came to a decision of making my creature live in a rainforest, therefore the sharp claws to climb trees.
